It is used, along with the helping verb have, to form the Present Perfect:
  • The singer has sung four songs so far in this concert.
It is used to form the Past Perfect:
  • When we arrived the singer had already sung four songs.
It is used to form passive constructions:
  • Listen! My favorite song is now being sung.
